How to Set Up Payments on Squarespace or Wix in Under 30 Minutes

You’ve got something to sell — maybe a course, a service, a digital product — and now it’s time to make it official:
You need to get paid.

The good news? You can connect Stripe or PayPal to either Squarespace or Wix in under half an hour — no developer needed.

Whether you're selling a $29 PDF or a $299 coaching session, here’s how to get your payment setup running fast and smooth.

Before You Start: What You’ll Need

A verified Stripe or PayPal account (or both)
A Squarespace or Wix site with commerce features enabled
Your business bank account info (for payouts)
A product, service, or offer ready to sell

Now let’s walk through the setup.

For Squarespace Users

Squarespace uses Stripe (and PayPal, optionally) for checkout. Stripe is required to accept credit/debit cards.

Step 1: Go to Payments

  • In your Squarespace dashboard, click Settings → Payments

  • Choose Connect Stripe (and/or PayPal if you want both)

Step 2: Log into Stripe

  • If you already have an account, sign in

  • If not, you can create one right there

  • Add your business and banking details (Stripe will handle payouts)

Step 3: (Optional) Connect PayPal

  • Click Connect PayPal

  • Sign in and authorize

  • You’re now set to accept PayPal payments in addition to cards

Step 4: Add Your Product or Service

  • Go to Commerce → Products

  • Add your item (course, session, digital file, etc.)

  • Set the price, description, and fulfillment method (digital, service, or physical)

Step 5: Test It

  • Go to your site and try the checkout as a visitor

  • Complete a mock order to confirm everything flows smoothly

Done. You’re live.

For Wix Users

Wix gives you a bit more flexibility with multiple payment options, including Stripe, PayPal, and Wix Payments (their in-house processor).

Step 1: Go to Wix Payments Settings

  • In your Wix dashboard, click Settings → Accept Payments

Step 2: Choose Your Payment Method

  • Select Stripe, PayPal, or Wix Payments

  • Follow the prompts to connect your account and verify details

Tip: Wix Payments is convenient if you want everything inside Wix — but Stripe is more flexible if you sell across other platforms, too.

Step 3: Add Your Product or Service

  • Go to Store Products or use Wix Bookings for services

  • Upload your product, set the price, and choose delivery method

Step 4: Publish and Test

  • View your live site

  • Go through the checkout process (test with a small purchase if needed)

  • Make sure payment and confirmation emails are working

Quick FAQs

Can I use both Stripe and PayPal?
Yes — on both platforms, you can offer both to give your customers flexibility.

How long does it take to receive payouts?
Stripe usually deposits funds within 2–3 business days. PayPal is often faster but may hold funds for new accounts.

Do I need an LLC to set this up?
No. You can set up as an individual/sole proprietor and update later when your business grows.

Final Thought

You don’t need a full-blown e-commerce system to start selling your course, offer, or resource.
You just need:

  • One solid product or service

  • One clean website

  • One simple payment setup

Squarespace and Wix make it easy.
You bring the offer — they handle the tech.

And if you get stuck along the way? That’s what I’m here for. Just ask.
