The Tools I’d Use If I Had to Start From Scratch in 2025

(And Honestly, I Kinda Am)

If everything disappeared tomorrow, audience, income, website, all of it, and I had to build again from zero…

I wouldn’t overthink it. I wouldn’t get fancy.
I’d open my laptop, log into the exact tools I’m using right now, and get to work.

Here they are, no hype, just what works.

1. Website: Squarespace

Why I’d use it again:
It’s all-in-one. Hosting, design, blogging, payments, without needing to code a thing. I can make something that looks clean and professional without hiring a web developer.

What I’d do with it:

  • Create a simple homepage with one clear offer

  • Set up a blog or portfolio

  • Add a contact or booking form

  • Sell something directly from my site

2. Content Creation & Design: Canva

Why it’s a must:
It’s my visual studio, even though I’m not a designer. Templates are clean. It’s fast. It gets the job done. Whether I’m posting on Instagram or building a PDF freebie, this is where I start.

What I’d use it for:

  • Instagram graphics

  • Ebooks or lead magnets

  • Branding mockups

  • Promo visuals

3. Communication, Docs, and Files: Google Drive / Workspace

Why it’s the backbone:
Emails, docs, folders, spreadsheets, it all lives here. I can stay organized, collaborate, and share without digging around different platforms.

What I’d run through it:

  • Sales copy drafts

  • Email templates

  • Pricing sheets

  • Slide decks

  • Internal planning

4. Social Media Presence: Instagram + Facebook

Why these still matter:
Even in 2025, this is where people check you out. It’s the front porch of your business. It’s also where community, comments, and casual discovery still happen.

How I’d use them:

  • Post consistently (value + personality)

  • Use DMs to connect with people

  • Test new ideas by seeing what gets attention

  • Share behind-the-scenes, not just polished stuff

5. AI Assistant: ChatGPT

Why it’s in the mix:
I don’t outsource my voice, but I do use AI to speed up the thinking. ChatGPT helps with structure, rewrites, and getting unstuck when my brain hits a wall.

How I use it:

  • Brainstorming angles

  • Rewriting headlines

  • Turning ideas into outlines

  • Polishing explanations for non-techy readers

6. Presentations & Visual Storytelling: Keynote

Why this still works:
If I’m pitching something, launching, or teaching, I want slides that feel intentional, not noisy. Keynote gives me clean design, easy animations, and full control.

Where I use it:

  • Animations

  • Webinars

  • Offer pitches

  • Course materials

  • Client walk-throughs

7. Video Editing: CapCut

Why it’s underrated:
CapCut makes video editing feel doable. Whether I’m slicing a reel, adding captions, or doing something a little more polished, I don’t need pro tools, just a solid workflow.

What I’d edit:

  • Short-form video (Instagram, reels)

  • Promo clips

  • Course intros or behind-the-scenes footage

Bottom Line

If I had to start over in 2025, I wouldn’t chase every tool or trend.
I’d use what helps me:

  • Show up

  • Share clearly

  • Stay organized

  • Build trust

  • Sell something simple

That’s what this stack does.
And honestly, whether you’re starting or restarting, you don’t need more gear, you just need to use what you’ve got really well.
