Why I Teach Through Q&A Instead of Scripts

If you’ve ever taken an online course, you’ve probably seen the usual setup:
A teacher sits in front of a camera, reading from notes or a teleprompter. The delivery is polished, the slides are tidy, but the whole thing feels a little flat.

That’s not how I teach.

Most of my lessons come from something much more natural: me answering real questions on Zoom or Google Meet.

Instead of recording scripted lectures, I hit record while I’m talking through problems with real students. That way, you’re not just getting a presentation. You’re getting a conversation.

And here’s why I believe this works better.

Why Q&A Works Better Than Scripts

When I’m responding to a student in real time, a few powerful things happen:

  • The flow is natural. I’m not glued to bullet points. I’m focused on making sure the person in front of me understands.

  • The questions are authentic. Students on Zoom or Google Meet ask things the way you would. No jargon, no overthinking, just real concerns.

  • The answers adapt. If my first explanation doesn’t land, I’ll find another angle or give a different example until it clicks. That’s hard to capture in a scripted video.

  • The energy is alive. Talking to a real person brings out my best teaching. It feels more like a conversation than a lecture.

This approach isn’t just my hunch. Platforms like PrepAgent proved how powerful Q&A teaching can be. Their lessons didn’t sound like rehearsed speeches. They felt like live coaching sessions, and students loved it.

Why It Helps You Learn Faster

Think about the best teachers you’ve ever had. They didn’t just dump information and move on. They listened, responded, and explained things in a way that matched the moment.

That’s exactly what happens in a Zoom or Google Meet session.

Even if you weren’t the one asking the question, you’ll hear me break it down in plain language. Chances are, you’ve had that same question in your head. Hearing it answered naturally makes it easier to remember and easier to apply.

The Bonus Benefit: Confidence

There’s another hidden upside. This style doesn’t just give you information, it gives you confidence.

When you watch me work through a question in real time, you don’t just get the final answer. You get to see the process, how I untangle a messy, confusing problem and turn it into something clear and doable.

That shows you how to approach problems yourself, not just memorize solutions.

Why I’ll Keep Doing It This Way

Could I script everything out and make it look like a TED Talk? Of course. But that’s not what actually helps you learn.

By recording live answers from Zoom or Google Meet, you get the benefit of real conversations, real questions, and real solutions. It’s not about being polished. It’s about being useful.

So if my lessons feel more like sitting in on a coaching call than watching a lecture, that’s intentional. I want you to feel like you’re learning alongside real people, in real time.

And that’s what makes it stick.
